Saying hi from Vienna, Austria!
Hey members,
after reading the forum for some time, I finally signed up.
Took the opportunity after winning an auction for my fourth Smith&Wesson yesterday. Oh yeah.
Can't wait to get my hands on it:

Glad to see some countries in Europe can still sell firearms at auction. I guess your laws are a little more lax over most others.
Fine piece you have there.
And a warm from “wild and wonderful “ West Virginia at least that’s what they tell us.

@gdnagle:
I wouldn't call it relaxed.... it involves tremendous paperwork, patience and even psychological exams to obtain a possession license (still not good for carrying).
But we can own a limited amount of firearms.
In my case: some fine Smith&Wessons pieces 🏻

Welcome from Texas simultan4. Great forum for all things S&W, have fun, learn lots, share what you know.
Always grand to have a new member of the S&W family join in from across the Eastern pond.
I carry a 2" model 36 as a second gun on duty. I am assigned to CID (Criminal Investigation Division) and work plain clothes as the pawn shop detail. Mine is no where as pristine as yours but it has the character of being a working sidearm. It is worn and a few dings but serves me very well.

Thanks for the warm welcome.
Hopefully there is soon something, that I can share with you.
I'm nowhere near as experienced as most of you.
I started shooting 4 years ago, because my boss talked me into it.
And do competition shooting for 3 years now.
So, I'm quite new to that field.
@pawncop:
I wouldn't mind signs of wear on an honest gun. In my opinion, it gives them character.
My model 66 shows those signs and wish, I knew more about its history.
I will never pass any magnum rounds through it and have it well padded in my safe. It's a retired 66 now.
Btw: anyone an idea, why frame and barrel on my 36 look like 'different blueing'?
The revolver is still in transit, being shipped to me - could that be wear?
Or is it aged?

Just joined the forum a few weeks back myself. Born in Salzburg. Left for US wih my dad (US Army and mom, born Salzburg) in 1956. Don't own a single S&W but love guns and the forum.
