I just received a Burris Fast Fire II red dot sight. I ordered because it is a 4 MOA dot and it is supposed to have a automatic adjusting dot that adjusts to the light and increases or decreases it's intensity so as to not be too bright and star out in bright light. I saw one on a friends Mod 41, and it was nice and bright in the outdoors, and fairly large. Since I'm 68 and my eye's aren't what they used to be I thought the larger dot would help me in Bullseye competition.
Well, I mount on my .22 target pistol, and I can't find the dot. When I finally did it is so dim I literally can't see it without straining my eye's. I inserted a new fresh battery and tried again, same thing. Also, it is much smaller than the dot in either my Tasco PDP2, Millet, or Accudot, all of which are 2 MOA dots.
I set up in a rest at 10 meters on my 10 Meter air gun range. The dot covers a little less than the "X" ring, which measures about .20". If my calculations are correct, a 4 MOA dot should cover about .44" at 10 meters (aprox 33 ft).
Do any of you have a Burris Fast Fire and dows this sound correct? Possibly I received a defective one?
I have emailed Burris Customer Service with these questions also.
Appreciate any input, as is, the Burris is unusable for me.
