Anybody Work for Dick's Sporting Goods?

I went into one once...think it was somewhere around Atlanta...

I was terribly dissapointed with their pricing in their gun department. $6.99 for the little bottle of Hoppes?!?
Everything was too high, and my wife bought tennis shoes at the New Balance store cheaper than at their "sale" price.

They did have a couple of very pleasant looking cashier girls. ;) I bought four hockey pucks from them, but I don't know what the going rate of those are- I might have gotten hosed on the price (I think they were $2.00 each). The pucks make great things to drill holes in and pound out pins out of guns and stuff, and when shaved down, door scotches.

The Lafayette, Indiana store has a great selection of:

Fishing tackle
Shotgun ammunition
High priced fitness apparel
High priced fitness shoes
High priced treadmills
Surly checkout clerks

In short . . . a big disappointment.

I got nervous, I thought you were gonna tell me that they opened a ice hockey rink up in Suches somewhere, and you were gonna be playing goalie:D:D:D

Thanks folks. I put in an application online to go to work for them. I touted my hunting, fishing, and firearms experience in my resume.

As such maybe they'll hire me to work in woman's running wear!!!

Since their counter help is so lame maybe I have a shot!!! I have never worked in retail so I am probably as "lame" as they come...............:D

I have no idea how so many big box sporting goods stores stay in business.

At one time they carried handguns. I think they stopped sometime in the early 90's. With regards to guns, if you are just a hunter or really a non gun type person just to have gun for whatever like a regular old pump 12 gauge shotgun a .22 rimfire rifle a .30-.30 lever and a .30-06 synthetic bolt rifle then they are your place to go and shop. If your looking for cool guns then don't waste your time. Go to a real gunshop.

I like Dick's, but they definitely are a big chain. A little bit of everything and a lot of young sales people. Just bought a ping pong table and a bike there, but not gun related stuff. Better for sporting goods than gun related items in my opinion. Didn't have any .38 specials when I asked a few weeks ago. Won't ask again.

Fixed it for ya ;)
Make sure if you google it use "Dicks Sporting Goods" or you will get some strange stuff indeed
