HAPPY NEW YEAR!
This may have been discussed before. I picked up a Husky magnetic tool holder at the depot and deciding on how I want to store my spare pistol magazines. This one seems to work well with plenty of surface area. I may get another to experiment with and then decide where and how I want to mount them. But for now this is a picture.
I am assuming there isn't any issues with storing mags on magnets? Anyone know?

On the contrary...if you leave them stuck to the holder too long, the magazines, themselves, will become magnetized over time, making them extremely difficult, and sometimes impossible, to remove from the pistol once they've been fully seated.

Y'all believe that, don't you?

Excellent idea opaul. Tell us more.
What are the dimensions of the tool holder?
How much do they cost?
How do they mount? Magnetic? Screws? Any drilling required?
If one were stuck to the inside of the door, would it hold the mags firmly enough that they wouldn't fall off when the door was closed?

My earlier humor aside, this really is a good idea. I'm surprised some gun accessory company hasn't made some minor modification to it, then started marketing it under their own brand name, overpricing it as well.

If I had that many mags, I'd be doing it, too, but the mags I have stay fully loaded, plus I have Glock mags as well.

OK, I've decided this is the way I'd like to keep my ammo magazines organized so I've added two additional plates. The mags arranged by pistol type, Colt, Sig, S&W, Springfield, Beretta-etc.

The Husky plates are $20 apiece. They will attach to any clean flat metal surface without drilling or screws. They do come with mounting screws and a metal plate if you want to mount to a non-metallic surface. The dimensions are 12"x6". I do think they would hold when opening and closing the door.

You could try one and if it didn't work it could always be repurposed in the shop.

Are those silver mags stainless?
If so, I wouldn't think stainless steel would work on a magnet. Interesting.

I thought the same as well but a picture is worth a thousand words. The Colt 45 and Springfield were purchased as SS. Interesting.

I'm not a metallurgist so I'm just guessing that maybe there are different levels of stainless and it would appear that some sure will react to a magnet.
Great idea, BTW.
