Sorry, no, I don't have one to show you.

But occasionally, reading through older threads about Victory models, one comes across speculation that an unmarked Victory might have been an OSS gun. Such illusions are usually quickly dashed by the experts.

However, these guns do exist. We know from Pate that the OSS received quite a few. And in a place I can't mention or link, I just came across the first Victory I'd seen that actually lettered to the OSS.

So just as a curiosity, I thought I'd share a snip of the letter that was pictured. Forget about secret and exotic locations, by the way. All OSS guns went to the OSS warehouse in Rosslyn, VA, with no info on where they were sent from there. I'm adding a Colt letter that references the same place in a bit more detail.

Absalom:

The key to identifying OSS-shipped Victory Models has been determined. This important topic will be the subject of a forthcoming article on the OSS guns to be published in the Smith & Wesson Collectors Association Journal.

Charlie, Have you been snooping in the declassified files of the OSS in the Natl' Archives ? I'm looking forward to your article. Hope it has lots of pictures of OSS agents with their trusty S&Ws making the world safe for democracy ! Ed.
