They also made grip adapters, similar to Tyler's. I have one on my 5 inch .38-44 Heavy Duty from 1934. It is marked "Fray-Mershon." It looks just like one I have on a 1954 Highway Patrolman except that one is marked "Pachmayr" the original owner added. I have always heard that Pachmayr bought Merschon at some time.
 
Not bad. With checking, it turns out to be 1958. But they had a relationship a couple of decades before that. John Lachuk's book Frank A. Pachmayr America's Master Gunsmith goes into some detail.
