Recently received an IWB Kydex holster from Concealment Express for my Shield 9mm.

Smith & Wesson IWB KYDEX™ Holsters | Concealment Express

The cost is $34.95 delivered. They ship FAST. They also email you, a lot. Order received, ready to ship, shipped, on its way, out for delivery, delivered - and multiple copies of the same. It's almost excessive... ok, it is excessive, but it's obvious they understand that keeping people informed about their order is important. From online order to my mailbox was 3 business days - stellar.

Today is the first day I've worn it the entire day. It's very comfortable. I'm wearing it with the 15 degree cant, about 4 o'clock. The cant is adjustable. I tried it with 0 degree cant appendix, and it works and is comfortable, even sitting. I just don't like carrying appendix. IWB, 3:30 - 4 o'clock is perfect.

Printing is negligible with a loose t-shirt. The clip holds tight.

The gun fits perfectly in this holster - it snaps in, even with the retention adjustment screw loosened. This is a perfectly form fitted holster. My shield has a safety, and you can see the holster accounts for that. I carry with the safety off and have no worries that this holster is going to accidentally engage it. The trigger is fully covered.

The only downside is that the edges are sharp. So much so that I felt compelled to knock them down with light file and some sandpaper. You can see on the second pic that I knocked down the outer edge but left the inner one - the outer one was as sharp as the inner one before I knocked it down.

I also feel like the nose of the holster could be rounded more. You can see this up close on the 4th pic. I might hit that with a dremal and some sandpaper.

For $35, you can't beat this holster. They're having a sale with code SUMMER20 to get 20% off two holsters right now. I might have to buy two more for my other guns... filling up the ol' holster box!

Have you tried it without a shirt or undershirt? I.e., with the kydex against bare skin? I have a CompTac all-kydex holster which is the thinnest (overall package) and best fitting holster in my stable, but when I used it with just a Hawaiian shirt for cover (it gets hot in St. Louis in the summer) it got pretty uncomfortable pretty quickly.

That's why I went to the hybrid IWBs - the CompTac MTAC for Glocks and a local knockoff when I switched to revolvers (CompTac didn't make any hybrids for revolvers back then.) The leather backing is slightly thicker than a kydex back, but a LOT more comfortable if the holster is going to be against bare skin.

Just a thought for those who live in hot places.

I too have this holster. Mine has the "carbon fiber" looking finish.

I have not tried to change the cant angle.

My main grip is that it is not tuckable. Otherwise it quick, light and easy.

I may try using some spray contact cement and glue on a cut down mouse pad for the side against bare skin. Would offer some absorption and some padding. I just have not committed to trying it yet.

I amy take a look at a stealthgear tuckable holster.

Yes - I never wear an undershirt. It seems comfortable enough against bare skin. I do have a hybrid leather/kydex for my G26 and like that one as well.

FWIW, They do offer a tuckable version: Smith & Wesson M&P SHIELD 9MM/.40 Tuckable IWB KYDEX Holster | Concealment Express

I have the same one for my Shield 45. It also holds my Shield 9 as well, but I have a We the People kydex for my 9, which is nearly identical, but much cheaper.

Had not heard of We The People holsters before. Looks like a very similar holster. WeThePeopleHolsters Custom Made Kydex for Every Day Carry – wethepeopleholsters.com - found the code LAUNCH10 for them, which puts their holster at $24 w/free shipping - pretty good deal. The only difference I can see is the gap between their holster and the belt loop looks to be too large.

The down side to those holsters is the plastic clips. They hold on, not down. If not anchored well you will draw the holster with the gun. Do yourself a favor and get the Ulti Clip. It locks into place. No belt needed. Just swap out the clip you have on there now.

I have never once pulled my gun and the holster come with it. If you have the proper belt and have the clip seated right, it does not come off.

I have a concealment express for my Shield 45 snd its very comfortable and very concealable. I have worn it against bare skin, Its not to bad even with the aggressive stippling on the Shield 45. I much rather wear a tank top under a t-shirt makes it that more comfortable regardless of the hot weather.

Is this holster easy to get on and off? I want something that is easy to take on and off in the car.

This style of holster is pretty easy to take off, and slightly harder to put on. It's not a struggle to put on by any stretch, easier than say a 2 clip hybrid.

I wore mine all night AIWB with the full cant adjusted and it was very comfortable. I didn't notice any sharp edges personally and it should work great for the quick trip holster.
I also have a stealthgear IWB which is really good for long stretches and a Mitch Rosen OWB if I want the most comfort while carrying.

I just ordered 2 of them. The one I really don't care if it is super comfortable since I will rarely use it. The one for the Shield my wife and I are both going to try out.

I also bought a "We the people" kydex holster for another pistol. I consider the Concealment Express to be higher quality.

Really? I have one of each (CE and WTP) and they really are nearly identical, except for the WTP logo on the clip.
