Alien Gear Holster Reviews??

I got the 2.0 and after about 1 year the plastic inside liner broke into so I e-mailed them and they gave me the option of a new replacement or for $12 getting a 3.0 which has a stainless steel liner inside. I went with the 3.0 upgrade. This is my EDC now. I'm happy with the holster.

I have the cloak tuck 3.0, the cloak slide (favorite), and the cloak mod and they are all great holsters.

I am not going to buy the shape shift because it looks like a million parts not to mention I simply dont need it since I already have all 3 options.

I might get a stealth gear OWB Flex at some point, they look amazingly well built.

I'm going to offer a different opinion.

I'm not saying it's a bad product, but it didn't work for me when I bought one for my G19. I found the holster too wide for me as I'm not that big (32 inch waist). It didn't wrap comfortably around my hip so I sent it back.

Again, not a knock on the product. Just seems that dual clip IWB holsters may be too big for me. Not sure of your size, but it may be something for you to consider.

Yes, if you're a smaller framed individual with a tiny waist, then the Alien Gear IWB holster system will probably not work for you. They are just too wide.

I am small and my waist is a 30. The AG holster for a Detective Special was just way too wide and big. It was so wide that there was no way it was wrapping around my tiny hip/cheek. There was just no way it was fitting on me without super printing and a huge bulge in my clothing. I sold it without ever even using it. Had the belt loops and everything.

Smaller folks keep that in mind.

As for quality, everything is great and AG is a great company that will take care of you.

Way too wide for my 32 inch waist .. Lucky I didn't buy one but tried on a friends and for my thin body type it just doesn't work .. One thing is its hot .. guess that's why its water proof .. smaller single clip holsters do as good a job with out all the mass and weight of that type of holster ..

It also printed much more then the Garrett Industries holsters I have for both my S&W Compact and Sig Legion P229 ..

For many its a great holster but for me and many others that are thin it would be sent back ..

I own the Cloak Tuck 3.0 and have 5 shells for it. First, it's a descent holster at a great price. Customer service has been top notch every time. Their Christmas deals are staggeringly good but that results in LONG waits at that time of year - so be warned. That said, its my 2nd choice for IWB hybrid carry. I much prefer my Black Arch hybrid with its optional comfort backing. I also have AG's OWB holster because I bought it in a 2-for deal primarily to get the 2nd shell. Its clunky and not very useful IMHO but I have the older leather model.

I bought the 2.0, upgraded to the Cloak 3.0 with a LaserMax. Had it for about 2 years. I liked it. Am considering buying their OWB Paddle for CC under coats and vests. They have a new version that they came up with. Very innovative adapts quickly for a variety of carries. But it isn't for me. They are a really good company with excellent customer service.

Thats what you skinny guys get! Lol. My cousin just returned his alien for the exact same reason. He also has a 32 inch waist. Said it was to big for him also. :D

Hi Guys (yes - it is my first post here :)
Do you know if the shapeShift for M&P9 will fit M&P9 2.0?
Regards
Marcin

For all those wanting the Shapeshift for the Shield .45 was "chatting" with AG less than 20 minutes ago and the rep. from customer service said it will be available in January or February 2018.
Doesn't do some of us much good for Christmas but there is a light at the end of the tunnel and it ain't a train...hopefully!!

I've been a fan of their products for quite some time now. I have an original Cloak Tuck, a 3.0, and a Cloak Slide. All great, all comfortable, all reasonably priced. I recently took a class for my Enhanced conceal permit and used the Cloak Slide, it was perfect. My gun came out cleanly and locked in sharply when returned to the holster. I tried the Cloak Mod and returned it as it felt a bit to floppy for me, the Shape Shifter I'm still not sure about just yet.

If you go with the 3.0, give the "C" clips a try. Your belt passes through them, but they're open enough that they're all but invisible. Good Luck and good shooting.

PS......Their Customer service is first rate!

My two cents

I had the super tuck 3.0 and had issues being able to draw it.

I have a small waist 31-32 inches. This caused the IWB base, due to its large size, to bend and constrict the shell (for my Shield9 and 9C) making it extremely difficult to draw, like sprain my shoulder to draw.

I've switched to the Alien Gear Shape Shift, LOVE IT. Having the smaller base resolved the drawing issues. It also allows me more positioning options as there is less interference with the belt loops on my pants.

Of course, do your own research.

P.S. Outstanding customer service. I had an issue with one of their shells. I asked what I needed to do to return the defective shell and get a replacement. They said "Don't worry about it" and sent me a whole new system.

I personally didn't like my holsters from them and i bought two. An owb and the tuck 3.0. It's comfortable but there's so much excess holster it was ridiculous. I carry kydex now and I'm much happier. Gun goes in easier, it doesn't move much.

Finally decided.

The AG 4.0 was an interesting possiblity and was heavily researched (along with others) but was too busy and and looked clunky. I finally decided on a tried and true IWB. Still breaking it in but very happy.

I wore my M&P Shield for two yrs before I sold it in a Cloak tuck IWB holster. It was comfortable & I was happy with it, I did upgrade to the optional leather belt loops which I recommend.

I did change to a DeSantis Cozy partner IWB leather paddle holster & the comfort between that and the cloak tuck was night & day. The Cozy partner was by far more easier to put on, held my pistol more securely and I really liked the 15° FBI forward cant better than the Alien gear. I now exclusively use DeSantis OWB speed scabbard holsters for my pistols since Texas is now a open carry state.
