My mini thirty is not a tack driver, but I still get my deer with one shot. Also fun to shoot at the range. Not looking forward to the day they ban high capacity semi-auto rifles, that will make me a criminal, I guess.

Each store/store manager determines what they carry. The one in my area has Sig AR's with magpul accessories.

Huh. I was shooting 4" groups with iron sights out of a Ruger Mini-14, and thought I just sucked at rifles.
I was considering a Remington 700 SPS Varmint so as to learn to suck less with rifles, but that's another thread.
Try the West Mifflin Walmart...shows 3 Mini-14's in stock...they have them listed at $599. Go to the store and insist they scan the bar code...it should go to $399....it's worth a try. Tip... don't call them to scan the tag because if it goes to $399 the gun salesman will pull them for friends to come in and get the good price before you can get there.

My local Walmart hasn’t had an AR in at least two years, and I have t seen a Mini in almost one. They had a few last Christmas for a good Black Friday sale. Haven’t seen them since. Now it’s only bolt guns and lever actions.
As for a ban, I don’t believe it will ever happen. The first AWB was passed under a Democrat house and signed by a Democrat president. The Democrats lost the house in the next election and it’s pretty universally accepted that it was the AWB that did them in. The Democrats controller the house, senate, and the White House for all of 2009 and 2010. They could have done whatever they wanted. They didn’t because they know what will happen. They like to blame the republicans and the nra so that their clueless followers will think they are trying, that’s all.

Many people are reporting on a local forum that the tags show the regular price but when scanned the sale price will pop up. Well worth having clerk scan the tag.

Maybe I just don't know how to do a search of Walmart, but I can't get a cartridge type rifle of any kind to show up anywhere in the country when I go to Walmarts website?? When I check my local store, even though I know that they have Henrys, for example, I can only get air rifles to come up on a search for rifles??

Walmart doesn't have guns listed on their website.
Found these links on another forum last week to check inventory for the Mini-14, 10/22 with sling and 10/22 Stainless Takedown that Walmart is clearing out.
I scored two Mini-14's at $399 each and the $169 10/22 Stainless Takedown.
put a zip code in for the location of the Walmart you want to search
A few stores Mini-14 are still $599, but most are $399....have them scan the tag if it is $599. When Brickseek says "Limited Stock - 0" it usually, but not always means they have 1 left which is often the one on display in the cabinet. If it shows "Out of stock - 0", that's when it is usually really out of stock.

ask at customer service to speak with the sporting goods manager...have them run the Mini-14 sku or upc code (listed in the post above) to check their inventory although the manager should know what's in the back gun storage room....make him go thoroughly check anyway and then have them scan the upc label...it should go to $399. That's what happened when I went to the 2 stores in my area...tags were $599...scanned them $399.

The bad news is that all the surrounding stores are out of everything but the takedown 10/22. Which I admit intrigues me. I have one of the Walnut stocked ones and love it...great accuracy. Maybe I'll take a look at one of those. But it doesn't show up with a discount...or at least it doesn't look like it....$338.00 sounds like retail. But I don't know. I'll take a look tomorrow, and have them scan the bar code. If they still have one.
