Size comparison SD9 vs Glock 19

Considering that the basis for the Sigma Series was the Glock 19/23, it should come as no surprise that the two are similar in size.

On a related note, it always leaves me scratching my head whenever I read/watch reviews for the M&P Compact that the reviewer apparently is completely unaware of the Sigma Series due to them making comments like; "Smith & Wesson finally made a pistol of similar size to the Glock 19." somewhere in the introduction/opening statements, meanwhile the Sigma Series has been around since 1994.

I remember when they came out, and I was totally unimpressed by it, even thought it was ugly. I guess it's because it was so different from all their other handguns. And I was still holding out on buying a Glock too.

I'm still a "steel gun guy", but I do now have a few poly frames guns, but not many. Just an old dog that can't learn new tricks I suppose.

I don't recall them doing so well in the marketplace either, but I don't think there was anything wrong with them.

I was a wheelgun guy first .. Then I purchased a Ruger P85 then a Makarov.... It was so small compared to the P85 , my first polymer pistol was a P95 .. then a HS2000 ,Then a Keltec P-11 so fourth and so on , 1911 phase other phases and such ..I still own quite a few wheelguns , 1 is a LCR
Now all my pistols are polymer ,9 Glocks , 2 S&W ( Shield & SD9),1 XD (XD9SC) ,1 Ruger (P95) and 2 Taurus (TCP) & a G2 .. I don't see any all metal pistols in my future..I like the lighter weight of the polymer

Actually, the over all dimensions of the G45 are closer to the SD series than the G19.
