When I push down on the barrel it moves down at lease the thickness of a dime and the slide moves backwards. I know its locked but it seems like instead of the barrel being on top of the locking block its on the ramp and the slightest pressure downwards lets the barrel slide down the ramp. I would think the barrel should be prevented from moving down and unlocking until the slide move backwards at lease a mm or 2. If you move the slide backwards ever so slightly the barrel starts to drop.

Also, I am getting primer drag from the firing pin. I remember reading about Apex barrels and how his stay locked longer and it helps accuracy.

So, how does it shoot?

As to primer drag, I have two Shields and an M&P 40c with a combined 29,000 rounds, and they all do that. Primer drag is a non-issue.

Barrel to frame lockup is different on these than the more familiar 1911. My 1.0 Shield 9mm does exactly the same thing. Downward pressure on the top of the barrel hood results in the barrel foot moving down slightly along the angle on the locking block, exactly like it does during the initial unlocking phase after detonation. Normal.

Many linkless/Sig style locking pistols do this. It's nothing to worry about. Primer drag is also mostly a non-issue, depending on exactly how the striker operates.
