A few days ago I ordered a blemished Alpha Wolf M&P40 Shield Threaded Barrel on sale for $99.95, it arrived in the mail today and looks far better than expected. It was described as having minor pitting, but said pitting appears to have been polished off and refinished over, leaving behind only shadows of where pitting was once present beneath the surface.
The barrel dropped right into the slide with no fitting required and appears to function smoothly, but unfortunately it doesn't like to feed from a fully loaded magazine. I attempted multiple times to chamber a round from a fully loaded magazine, but it consistently failed until I downloaded the magazine by one round. However, a firm slap to the bottom of the grip would cause the round to successfully chamber. Not a huge deal, but the factory barrel has no such issue, so my plans to immediately replace the factory barrel with the threaded barrel will have to be put on hold for the time being until I get a chance to take it out shooting and hopefully it will break in.
