Does anyone know what magazines will work in this rifle and where they can be bought?. Not particularly worried about how many rounds it would hold (it is a plinker), but would like to acquire a few more magazines that work at a reasonable price - uf possible. Thank you!

I ordered a couple of their mags for my Glenfield/Marlin Model 20. They arrived within just a few days. They were just under $22.00 each. Both mags were identical to the original (orange follower). Very well build and worked perfectly in my rifle. They make good stuff. I would expect that you're experience will be the same. Make sure to do a follow-up post once you get them and try them out. Inquiring minds want to know....lol

Will do. I found only 1 factory example in the US on eBay for $99. There are others in the UK and New Zealand similarly priced plus absurd shipping. Thank you in any event.

What was wrong with the 10 round mags? The way they fit, or not feeding properly?

The 10 rounders did not lift the cartridge high enough to be picked up by the bolt, of the three that I bought, one will work with extensive force, one occasionally worked. The other was not even close. More rounds ended up bent on the floor than down range. I think that it is a combination of inadequate springs, followers sticking on the side of the casing and the prongs holding down the cartridge being too low relative to the magazine lip. I am glad to get the seven rounders and thank you.

Sounds like you need to break out the files and pliers for a bit of WECSOG.

You might have to do a little schmoozing on the mags that are sticking. Could just be stamping burrs inside that the follower(s) are catching. Try pushing the follower(s) all the way down a few times with a small screw driver. I had a couple of mags for my Model 20 do the same thing but finally got them to work after playing around with them and got them broken in. Unfortunately, you can't disassemble those mags without ruining them.

I doubt that the patience, time or ammunition that would be required is worth it at this point in my life. I will see if they can be returned.
