I recently acquired a Model 10-5 which was formerly the property of the "campus cops" at Eastern Michigan University. The serial number dates it to 1970. When I got it, I realized that the chambers had some sort of little "sleeve" dubisaries which prevented .38 Special cartridges from chambering all the way. They stuck out the rear about .3" or .4". I soaked each chamber with penetrating oil and carefully drove little buggars out with a mallet and a drift. Has anyone else encountered this with old police guns? What was the reason for it?
