Was just loading up to to out to the range and had to laugh at the comparison of these two, 10 round mags.

If I showed that 12 gauge monster to an anti-gunner they would no doubt cry "foul"!

After all, it's all about the scary factor for them.

It may only hold 10 rounds..but it has 90, .32 caliber projectiles and fires 9 of them per trigger pull. Now THAT is "scary".... ;)

Go big or go home! Off to the range on my 65th birthday. :)

Well my shotgun doesn't have a SCARY big ol mag like yours but it holds 10 each with 27 24 caliber round balls in it for a total of 270..all in under 8 seconds...and you are right a bit scary. Hope you have fun at the range. Don't waste 'em all

OP expect this thread to be moved.

I have a shotgun with a mag like that. The strange shape of the long mag in gun makes it difficult to put in the usual spot I keep my "house" shot gun. I do keep a 9 shot Mossie with conventional magazine in my usual and a bit hard to find spot unless you know where to look.

Being down that 1 round does not keep me awake at night. We live quite rural, communications can be spotty many times and a LEO response could easily be 20 minutes or more. Either of those two shot guns will be a decent item in my or wife's hands if needed!

I do a load out of 5 rounds of 00 buck with 4 slugs to follow in the Mossie. We get large and potentially dangerous animals out here so that is why I load the way I do.

I decided over 50 yrs. ago that I liked a shotgun with buckshot better than a pistol caliber carbine. My shotgun only holds nine shells but it has a bayonet and after nine shots I can use it as a spear. :D Larry

I do have a DP12 that holds 16 rounds of 2 3/4" shells but does not utilize a detachable magazine. It will hold 30(!) rounds of the mini shells. That is a lot of lead.

In all honesty...I believe even a couple of rounds of 12 gauge is a good defense. Unless you are surrounded..;)

Yeah, my Mossberg 590 has a bayonet lug as well...which I think is kind of whimsical on a shotgun.

If you have a social problem that can't be solved with 9 rounds of buckshot, you don't a bayonet...you need running shoes! :)

Way back when mid -late 60s Win 97 trench guns were being sold...they came with bayonets. They were cheap10-20 bucks. Knew a gunsmith who let me drill and tap peep sights. 5 dollars each. 3.50 wholesale. He got rifle sights and soldered 'em on. So for very little money I made and sold about 25 slug shotguns for deer hunting. I sold the hand guards and bayonets to what became gun parts later for almost what I paid for the complete gun. Sold 'em for 60 dollars each with 5 Winchester slugs. They shot ok too....but you had to be careful with your thumb on the grip.Ithaca Deerslayers cost at least 150 bucks. Wish I had kept one...and all those long bayonets. I gave one of those long knives to a friend. They bring up to 300 these days. He's still got it
