A local gun show buddy had a cabin in Durango, Colorado and collected Western guns and related items. He died a few years back and his widow knew we had traded holsters and information back and forth, she offered me a group of holsters and old catalogs. This was probably the oldest holster in the bunch-the reference book Old Cowboy Saddles and Spurs lists Frank Young as a saddler in Durango between 1884 & 1897. I sold this to a Durango collector, despite the condition holsters from that maker and era remain desirable.
