New Colt Python 3" stainless

The 3" ( on any revolver IMHO ) is not a target gun. The revolver should come with fixed sights. :)

Very true for self defense fixed tunnel sites. Target sites snag. I tried the new 3" its to big and heavy ,plus to many light strikes on D/A.It does not stack up good and strikes light without firing.

I recently acquired this gun. I've read/heard that the rear sight is less that acceptable. What do any of you know for a replacement? My seller told me that the Wilson Combat is the one to get. What say you?
Thanks

The Wilson is great and it's much better than the OEM one.

But you should shoot yours and determine if you think it's acceptable.

I replaced mine.

Someone forgot to tell my 3” Python, my 3” 629, my 2.5” Model 19 and my 2.5” Diamondback that they’re not target guns. They’re all tack drivers when shooting slow-fire.

As to the new Python sight, mine has been fine so far. If it does fail, I’m prepared to purchase the Wilson, but haven’t needed it yet.

Except that .357s are sighted in for .357s, not .38 Specials. Adjustable sights on any .357 revolver, regardless of barrel length, allows one to have a zero for .38 special and .357 magnum without having to change sight picture.

Although I'm a life long Smith man, I do have a 3" Python with factory sights. It shoots as good, if not better than any Smith revolver in my collection. It ain't the arrow, it's the Indian.

If you lock down the rear sight using a tiny Allen wrench it's quite usable, but the Wilson Combat version does appear to be a superior unit.
