I've had this for a while, finally took a picture today (notice I didn't say a good picture :o) because I'm going to get rid of most of my stuff, and the auction houses want to make sure it's worth their while to come get them. That just makes good business sense. I'm in the minority, but I think the American Rimfire line is a better rifle than the 77/22 was.

Not my cup of tea, but nice!

Personally, I feel that CZ 452/453s are a better value than the Rugers..... but to each their own!

Do have Ruger 77/357 and a American Compact in .22mag. that I like

Now that is a beautiful piece of wood. Certainly would cost more today. Heard walnut prices have really jumped over the years. Used to take walnut for granted as standard back in the 60s - 80s. thanks for showing both guns. Something to admire.

Those are two very pretty rifles. I have a standard American Rimfire .22LR. Love that rifle. Uses my 10/22 magazines, makes me shoot like it's a single action (in a way, it is). I tend to shoot my 10/22's very fast, swapping mags as fast as I can, when I get "on a roll" slapping steel at the range.

"Win the lottery" is a popular phrase on rifle forums when someone orders a wood-stocked rifle from a large retailer and happens to get a better than average looking stock for the price. I didn't win anything, I paid for it and was happy to do so.

CZ 452 you say: I didn't win the wood lottery on this one, for a relatively brief time CZ offered the 452 American with what they called Fancy wood, At the time I bought this one it was an additional $100.00 on a $400.00 gun.

Lovely rifle! The Leupold 2-7X in Talley rings and bases are icing on the cake!
