Brand new Never fired upper from BCA .
Going through motions of making .300 aac reloads of differing seating depths. None of the these rounds want to chamber without getting stuck, and makes pulling the charging handle very hard to pull back Is there factory goop that has to be cleaned off before use?
I was thinking there was some factory shipping grease that is fouling things up. I never heard of such a thing for something new, out of the box.
I am more than reluctant to take this to the range.
Something isn’t right
any ideas?

BCA is known for iffy uppers, some work others not so much. Try hand cycling a round into the chamber to see if it's getting hung up on the feed ramp. You may need to polish that to resolve the feed problem.

Try useing different magazines to see if that is the cause. Sometimes the follower or feed lips can cause issues.
 
What bullet, what seating depth, what magazines? Have you cleaned and lubed the upper receiver liberally? Some AR's want to run wet with oil until broken in. I've got 4 300BO carbines, 2 are SBR's. One of the SBR's is suppressed and the sights (green dot & backups) are regulated for Sub-Sonic loads. I don't recall ever having any of them failing to function but I tend to run the uppers well lubricated.

Hand fed round gets stuck in the chamber. I used another round visibly shorter and the same occurs

Berry’s 200gr, CBTO 1.678”, magpul p3 but it isn’t a feeding issue…the round gets stuck.
 
If you have problems with factory ammo to then its the barrels feed ramp as short barrels tend to need a wider deeper cut to feed cartridges . Link below has photos of 300blk feed ramps for comparison ! BCA does have some sketchy uppers too .

I cleaned this upper, it certainly was dirty.
The cases were all annealed, sized, trimmed, and primed.
I used these primed cases to check how well they fit the magazine without powder, when I noticed how hard it was to pull the charging handle back to eject a round since I cannot fire this thing in my shop.
I loaded some factory ammo, still hard to pull the charging handle back.

I am not going to open the small die set until I get this thing back from BCA; I may even just return it. Such a headache.

I have gone down an expensive rabbit hole to have a suppressed, 10.5” SBR.

Feed ramp cuts can be a cause of feeding issues with certain company barrels over time .

Rifles can have a different cut than a M4 or short barrels and remember, his tread is about a Bear Creek here not a top quality barrel or product .
