VZ grips anyone?

Most of my S&W revolvers sport VZ grips, as they work for me and are durable. While I prefer the look of wood, I prefer the durability, texture and resistance to oils/ cleaning solvents G10 materials provide.

None of my guns are “collector grade” as I shoot them, often in ICORE and IDPA. Hence my rationale for durability.

I just installed RB-SB conversion grips on my 21-4 and 617.

I've got the factory VZs on my 642UC and 442UC, and a set of the tactical diamond on a 10-6.

The 10-6 came to me with a lot of holster wear, a broken DA sear pin (thankfully it was only that), and Pachmayr grips with a cross threaded bolt, but a clean bore and a beautiful SA trigger pull. I certainly wasn't too worried about originality on that one. That being said, i do prefer the factory Uncle Mikes rubber grips on my 64-7 if I'm going to be doing a lot of shooting in one session.

I can't believe the timing of your post. I literally hung up the phone from calling VZ to see when their Hyena Brown checkered grips would be available for my new Model 19 I have on order, and then I opened the forum and saw this post :D. Unfortunately, she said they are on backorder due to the hyena brown G10 being delayed from their distributor, with no word on when they will be getting the material in. I've had VZ grips on previous revolvers and autos, and I love them.

I no longer own this, but here is a Model 66 (I think lol) I had with the "dark cherry" G10 grips:

I will say, no grips shoot better than the Hogue overmolded rubber grips, but the VZ's sure look a lot better.

I'm kind of straying from the question but it still can apply. I have not had G10 grips on any of my revolvers but I do on my 1911 Kimber Stainless Target. What I really like about them is you can have an aggressive checker pattern for maximum grip or like mine which is not checkered but have a little ripple surface and they just have a very fine sandpaper texture, hard to describe but it really works. The caliber is 9mm so not a lot of recoil to deal with. And as you stated, they are very durable and don't have to worry about oil and solvents.

I have 2 pairs of VZ revolver grips. Several more for 1911.
The standard texture on the 442. Think I got those cheap at a gun show. The more aggressive tactical diamond on the 686 purchased those used on the forum.
I never wanted to order the “tactical diamond” because it sounded too aggressive. So glad I found these used as I am cheap and would not have spent $85 for a pair taking a gamble on the texture (and end up with yet another addition to the grip box). I had been searching for the perfect grip for the 686 since I got it. These are definitely them ! Absolutely a great feel in hand, lots of control in recoil but they do not abrade skin at all. If you were considering these do not hesitate (in my opinion).

I only own one set - they came on a 3" M60 I bought here on the forum.
I've only shot with them a couple of times, but I like their texture, and they look pretty good. No complaints here.

I have around 30 sets of VZ. I like both, but really like their 1911 trips better than the revolver grips. Seems my examples for revolvers leave the back strap proud of the grips. FWIW, I prefer 320 in blue/black, black cherry and carbon fiber.

The VZs that I put on my CZ75B were too thin. I ordered the wrong ones. Totally on me. They were cool about swapping the pair I had, for the ones I wanted. Good company to work with, in my opinion.

*Everybody who posted pics on this thread, you guys have beautiful guns. I didn’t see a one that I wouldn’t love to own.
