Good day all

I own a revolver that I can find no information on at all.

The box it came in and the serial number supports that it was manufactured by Rossi but there are no stampings indicating same

I have seen a deactivated example for sale in the UK but that is as far as it goes with finding information

Not sure if this is something rare enough to be kept in current as new condition or if I can be carried

Thank you

I'm not familiar with the trademark using the palm tree logo. It does not appear to match any Rossi images I can find. The revolver design looks to be a copy of a Smith & Wesson model 36 Chiefs Special. Perhaps Spain or other European origin?

The Palm Tree Logo is the Saudi marking

The revolver came in a Rossi box and the serial number range supports that

I cannot find any information about this revolver at all and would appreciate any help

The star in the grips makes me think it's a Chinese copy. There's Saudi 49's but they are Smiths.

Thank you for that

It is definitely a copy of the model 49.

Surely I do not own 1 of 1!!!

I am hoping someone will tell me exactly what it is so I know what to do with it going forward

Maybe it's a Philippine Danao....They were known to make them but the Saudi stamp is odd.

Thanks for that

I will check when I get home to make sure, but I think my one has a square butt as opposed to the round butt of the others

Well it's really cool and like you I'm hoping for a definitive answer.
Thank you

I am hoping to get an answer too, trust me, I am very tempted to slap some grips on there and pocket carry it

It is a South African proof mark.

It is not a sign of manufacture in South Africa though
South African proof would suggest something from the apartheid era. SA was under various forms of embargo back then. Someone (Rossi, Taurus?)conceivably made stuff that was scrubbed to conceal original source. Pure speculation on my part. Interesting piece.

Definitely has a Brazilian look to it, tho I don't recall Taurus/Rossi ever doing a hump back.
