I wanted to take a moment and thank @handejector for curating a forum culture that is welcoming to new "younger" collectors like me. The "Blue Forum" has a reputation internet wide for being full of intolerant curmudgeons. I have not found that to be true at all and have received a fair bit of support and unsolicited help from a number of senior members including @RKmesa and @rct269 among several others. I just wanted to offer a public thanks to this community for your freely shared knowledge and goodwill towards a younger generation (57).

Of course there again....maybe I just have a 77 year old disposition in a 57 year old body?:unsure:😄

Thank you all again and I'm looking forward to continuing to grow in my knowledge and expertise.🙏

Thanks for the sentiment. I would just say consider the source of those comments. They are likely made by intolerant curmudgeons that just could not be bothered with conforming to the rules and tone of this board.

It is sort of bizarre how some forums degrade into echo chambers with little tolerance of fresh ideas, new members or in the worst cases, questions from newbies.
We have secret knowledge and we ain't sharing it!
Those places are declining faster than the average forum.

FWIW I like the recent upgrade here.
 
I'm 37, similar to OP I enjoy the wealth of knowledge and experience here. Yes, curtness seems to be the currency at times but I prefer that to fake bubbliness. Great place to learn for those willing to, and I second the OP's sentiments.
