Removing Smoke Odor from a holster.........

Try leaving it out in the hot Sun for a while. I have a pair of new mfg. cavalry boots that were made by a smoker and then Saran wrapped for storage. They smelled so bad when I unwrapped them that one hour in the basement stunk up my entire house. Two months outside off and on got 99% of the smell out.
I can attest to this. Someone here suggested the same for a few gun cases that I got from a guy who smoked cigars in the house. 10 hours in the sun and the stink is gone!

As a pipe smoker and seeing all this dislike for the smell of smoke I have to say, keep your cologne and perfume where it belongs... in the bottle. :)
Sorry couldn't help myself.

Having just received a bunch of stuff from a late friend who smoked nasty cheap cigars in the house. Everything reeked awful of stale cigars. Someone on another forum suggested putting it the sunlight outside for a solid day. I can say it works really darn well!

First you have to clean the leather. Ever had a car that people smoked in? The film of tar and nicotine has to be removed, easy to see on the windshield.
After cleaning it off, then use one of the suggestions to remove the smell, Put in a Tupperware with baking soda and let it sit

I am usually very good at removing stains and odors butt I have battled with and lost a few attempts along the way. Might be time to toss it and start over. Might save you a lot of grief in the long run. It sucks to throw something out just because of odor, but HECK - I gave away 3 brand new large bottles of Ballistol just because I could not take the smell.

As 03hemi stated, ionizer is the only way. They are relatively inexpensive and are really useful for other uses around the house. For instance I’ll put mine in front of my inlet vent of my HVAC register at home, turn it on for 1-hour, my t/stat set to “fan only” and go out shopping or do errands outside. It freshens the ducts and the house air. I’ve put it inside my car too. Purchased mine at Amazon for under $50.
I just ordered one. Thanks!

The holster may have been smoked on purpose. I was watching some video on medieval survival tactics yesterday. It seems that our forefathers used smoking to extend the life of not only meats, but grains, linens, herbs, and leather too.

Maybe the previous owner was a prepper and smoked the leather holster to extend its life. So, I'd trade it or give it away to be done with the aggravation.
