Ok my skills are lacking can’t remember if this was my .45 with iron sites or the Taurus GC3 passing down to my daughter. I have fixed the low left problem. Took me forever to figure it out and then when I was taking my daughters two best friends to the range I want them to review a few videos because they’ve never shot before. In one of the videos they address the issue and it made sense because I’m not low left with my 45 but I have a tighter grip and it’s a full size that said most likely 7 1/2 meters my daughter gets a center mass. I take the head shots not because I’m a BB but because I’m cheap I want her to know where she’s shooting and I wanna know where I’m shooting. I think more arranged time and I could clean it up even more there are a few rapidfire rounds in there. That is why I want a good full-size pistol.

I’d say to look at police trade-in Glock or M&P 9mms. They can be had relatively cheap, especially the M&Ps. Magazines are relatively cheap. Parts and accessories are easily available. Worst thing you might have to do is replace sights if you want tritium that’s not burned out.

My “full size” range guns have been whatever I thought “fun” at various times in my life. Several versions of Browning Hi-Powers, many Smith revolvers, a bunch of old service sidearms including a Webley, a Luger, and a 1905 New Service. Sadly, most of them have moved on to others. That said, the one that I keep returning to is not a “full size” in your meaning. It is a Smith model 41. I have three barrels for it, the 7 3/8”, a 5 1/2” and a Clark Custom with a Leupold red dot. All wicked easy to swap. Various setups give you the heft of a full size and it is plain fun to shoot. Over the years, I have used it to shoot silhouette, bullseye annd just “plinked”. Of all the handguns that have come and gone that one has stayed and is much loved.

If I could get an optics ready Shadow of any kind for around $700 I’d jump all over it. OP wants to do this on a budget so unless he lucks into a great deal doubt he will find one.
The Shadows were originally based on the SP-01 and used can be had for under $700 and slowly upgraded as time, budget or desire warrants. Put a few 1000 roonds or dry fires on it and they can have very sweet triggers.
I have $650 currently into my 75B project including used pistol price, used DPP, and ‘custom’ milling. Cajun parts were picked up for $200 and two tone cerakote will be about $200. So all in a one off gun built to my specifications for the base price of a Shadow 2 that will run with most anything.
WHY? Because I can and want to.

BTW should be able to find 75Bs used for around $400ish. This was a lucky GB win for $365 all in with fees shipping and transfer. YMMV

Since everything is a "range gun" to me (not used to such limiting terminology), and we're talking about handguns only, I'll vote for many; the latest being an H&K USP 45 Expert. This pistol is quite accurate, especially with cast bullet loads, target velocity or full power and varying bullet weights. It has a polymer frame and a large capacity magazine - those factors alone should interest many of today's shooters. It's also a very safe pistol with traditional single-action/ double-action, a decocker, and a safety. I've done no fifty yard shooting yet, only some cursory work at twenty-five yards shooting Bullseye style. The adjustable rear sight is a bonus. I can't see a need for cluttering up and altering the clean lines of a handgun with optical sighting, lasers, or flashlights.
The H&K is also available in the lesser 9mm chambering. Only speculation, but I'll bet the 9mm version will shoot as well as the .45.

My 9mm range gun is a PSA Dagger with a Wheaton Arms trigger upgrade and a SwampFox red dot. The thing on the accessory rail is a MantisX training aid. It's a little gyroscope that connects to your phone via bluetooth and can tell you all kinds of things about your shooting. Wonderful training aid. You get real time feedback with pictures showing what you are getting wrong and what you are doing right. It works both for dry fire and live fire.
Ok I lied ( I fixed shooting to the left on the Taurus) another reason I guess to shoot my Carry gun more frequently. The Taurus has a smaller grip plus my off hand thumb was being ornery today couldn’t apply the same pressure off hand kept slipping. That said still have lots of work on range needed 7 yards 100 rds various stances and grips End of day more practice is needed but I like the feel of my full size Rock Island just need a cheaper round would prefer a longer barrel as well

How can you see what you are doing. I change my target 2 mag max. So I can see where I am hitting.
I go to the range to shoot as much as I can while I'm there, to keeup my pointing instincts sharp and to build up my confidence. I always shoot my carry gun (currently a Shield 45) and a few revolvers that I like. But my most often fired range gun is usually a .22LR.
It's certainly the cheapest gun to shoot and it's a lot of fun. I highly recommend a 22LR for the mostest and cheapest fun shooting range gun.

CZ Shadow 2 or an excellent less expensive option would be a CZ SP01 or CZ 75B or the new Nocturne as someone else mentioned, although that’s geared a bit more towards CC. All have terrific aftermarket support from a ton of different sources (Cajun Gunworks, CZ Custom or MCarbo for example). They’re VERY accurate out of the box and easy to work on…..tons of YouTube DIY Videos.

My only large handgun is my trusty Springfield Armory 1911A1 GI (Parkerized) that I personalized over the years for competition and carry. It's a GREAT bullseye gun.
So I learn something new I wouldn’t think of changing target every 20 rds I usually shoot with daughter or wife. That would mean for me changing every mag I shoot while they reload and vis versa. Normally I adjust where I aim but I was trying to fix my grip but for most part if not hitting where aiming pretty sure going to the same area. Usually shoot the cheapest ammo I can find. I know I need a lot of work but if I hit the range every 45 days I’m lucky. That said next time there by myself I might switch more often
