625 Underlug

Were there any 625s with a 5 inch barrel that had a partial underlug instead of a full underlug? What year did S&W with to the "newer" style cylinder release? Thanks!

There was a 5" Performance Center model with the lug milled off in stages. Possibly the 625-7. I believe the cylinder release was changed mid production of the 625-4, in the 90's.

Notice the 5.25" barrel and the shorter cylinder in that picture.
