Is here and today I kinda noticed the extra traffic. More to come. A friend of mine lives in a housing plan about 1/2 mile from the Oakmont Country Clubhouse. Most of the people are renting their homes out for up to $5000. I just want to ask people from outta town to come to the Pgh Zoo some other time. There will be scores of shuttle buses from designated parking lots; all two lots. That zoo is too close to me. Nobody knows the streets here, not even the people that live here.
I don’t golf. I scored a 44 my first time. I quit after that first hole. Apparently there’s a lot of money in golf? There’s a ton of fun up in Cranberry off the Turnpike. Go there. Have a great time!

I always stunk at golf, didn't play often enough to get any good at it. To me golfing was a social occasion that was a good excuse to drive around the course with friends and drink. I haven't played a round of golf for close to 15 years, can't swing a club anymore due to shoulder and elbow issues. I rarely drink anymore so I don't need to use golf as an excuse for that. My 11 year old grand kid's love golf. My granddaughter drove me around the course last Sunday as she and her twin brother played a round of PGA Junior League Golf against two other brothers, great fun.

Pinehurst is down the road a piece so we stopped in to see the clubhouse. Its a monument to golf.
I watch the last 3 or 4 holes of the Masters.
That’s about it.

There were two lady golfers from Nevada Universary that qualified for the lady's Campionship round last week.
It must have been really great to tee off and meet all the "Big Wigs" in this meet.

Heck of a way to break into the game !!

I started golfing when caddying at the local CC in our neighborhood. We weren't members and my dad was not a golfer. Like in the movie Caddyshack, if you were an active caddie you could play on Monday when the club was closed,

When I got into my 20's I really couldn't afford to play regularly but I would participate in outings where a 4some would all play a shot choose the best one then play the next shot from that location. Lots of fun, drinking and no pressure but I got a little better. I could always hit the ball solidly just never could control it.

Then the addiction started, and the desire to break 100 then 90 then 80.

As I age, I still enjoy the game carrying a 10 handicap and playing members tees at around 62 - 6400 yards. Can't hit the ball as far as I used to, but I still love the game. Unless you have played the game and play regularly it is hard to understand the appeal. IMO it is one of the most challenging games I have ever played.

I hope to continue for a few more years. Gotta run to my Thursday night league.

With 5 shots to make par, I would just work my way around the curve like you do with a golf ball. A scoped rifle could probably get there in 2 or 3 most of the time.

I'll take a watch just for the scenery.
Mom's brother and family lived just downhill and most of his seven kids caddied at some point. Lots of summer night pre teen mostly harmless hijinks were some good memories of the place.
