I'm a big fan of the smaller "pocket fixed blade" genre. My favorite maker is David Mary out of Canada. He's easy to work with, builds what you want in a reasonable time frame, and his prices are more affordable than most production knives. Spyderco is my favorite factory knife. I feel that Benchmade is priced beyond their value. We live in a golden age of knife options. It was amazing to jump back into the hobby and realize the D2 that was premium back in late 90's early 2000s is considered kinda ghetto now.
First pic is just frequently carried. Second pic is a family pic. Third is one I had David put together to go with my favorite N frame S&W revolvers. It's been cold blued now, but I haven't taken pics yet.

I carry 2 knives every day also, but one of them is a Huntsman model Victorinox Swiss Army Knife. The SAK is just too darned useful to not carry. My other knife is a Benchmade Mini-Griptilian, which is the perfect sized lock-blade knife for me. Never feel the need for anything bigger.
As much as I like sheath knives (and I have several really good ones) I almost never carry one because re-sheathing requires both hands and visual guidance.
The lock blade can be returned to it’s carry position with one hand and without looking at it.

Smaller Folder and larger fixed blade. Here are examples what I can do with a fixed blade, but prefer not to do with a folder.
But also, to be honest, because it's fun
With a Kydex sheath, I only need one hand to re-sheath.
I do almost exactly the same carry Spyderco PM-3 and Victorinox Compact or Mechanic or Tinker Plus

MY VITORINOX TREKKER is used every day. When out, Mixing with many strangers, one of my Italian "AKC Roma" drop point autos, with sliding guard = superb knives, with POSSIBLY, a preferred pocket pistol.
( I'm 78, & do have a CC permit ). I have also learned Knives with WRIST LOOPS prevent dropping during strenuous cutting; can also be hung places, & are used on ALL my cutlery tools.

Most of my knives fall in the category of inexpensive workman’s knives. I have been tempted by some of Jerry Busse’s and Nathan Carothers’ knives, but for the most part have stayed toward the lower end of the spectrum. But for under a hundred bucks, I have found some very interesting blades.
A couple of my favorite makers are David Mary and a Croatian maker who goes by Daado.

Thanks ! The folder is a large Sebenza. The fixed blade is a Busse “Son of Badger” (“SOB”) in Infi with a custom Kydex sheath.
