The answer is yes. I bought a 5.5" blued target model, and sent it to Volquartsen the day I got it fot a new trigger and bolt upgrades. In the meantime I ordered Hogue grips and a Hi-Viz green front sight designed to work with the original rear sight. IMO, a great combination. My trigger is 2.3 pounds with very slight take up and a glass rod break. What is not to like? I have a 7" M41 and this Ruger shoots right with it, and while the 41 is simple takedown, the Ruger is slicker.

i am a revolver guy, but my semi autos outshoot my 17-3. 18-3, and long barrel 17-4.

I am going to look for some variant MK4 to buy

Glad you are happy with your MK4. The Volquartsen parts are expensive but I believe they elevate this pistols performance. Especially the trigger upgrade.

Did you go with the overloaded or G10 grips? I want to replace the grips on my MK IV 22/45 Lite but I'm not sure which to get.

I’ve never done a Mk IV. But the installation of the parts into the Mk II was pretty easy. When I bought my old Mk II Stainless a couple of months ago, it already had vintage Pachmyer wrap arounds on it. They’re dried out and hard, and I don’t like the grip angle on that gun, but does that gun ever shoot great! So I’ve left that alone. My 4.5 inch Mk II Standard shoots at least as well as my 5 inch field barrel M41. The trigger pull now, is at least as good as any M41, if not better. I had to tap the Ruger rear sight over a tiny bit. And the front sight was a bit too tall. But I rectified that as well. In total, I have $500 in it. I wouldn’t take $1000.

The thing is a garbage disposal. It’ll run with everything I put into it. The Armscor 36 grain hollow point that I buy from Rural King shoots as well as anything CCI makes.

The Ruger pistols make me question why I would ever mess with anything else. But I do…
