I have a model 422 that appears to have weak ejection. Sometimes it spits the shell casing out and it barley rolls off the wooden grip and sometimes it stovepipes sticking out sideways and another fresh round wedging it in trying to feed it.
I know when my ruger mk3 had those problems I dressed the extractor and it was back in action, sometimes I would have to change the extractor spring. What would cause this in a 422?

Edit: I know another issue I had with ruger mk3 FTE is carbon buildup UNDER the extractor inside the extractor groover. Is that a problem with 422?

Start with a really good cleaning of the chamber, do it a couple of times, then repeat. :)

After that check the barrel nut and make certain it is tight.

Last look at the extractor and make certain it is intact and not damaged.

80% of the time this is a dirty chamber, 19% barrel nut, 1% extractor., :)

How Old is it? Has it been shot a lot?

Could just need a good cleaning

Recoil spring?
Mag Springs
Then maybe extractor

I second the mag springs . I have a 422 and a 622VR , I had to change mag springs on a couple cause mine was doing the same thing . Also had the same thing happen to my 52 .
