These two rapscallions were caught with… GUNZ!!!

Amazing how utterly silly and emasculated the UK subjects are… but they welcomed their stupidly intrusive and effeminate socialist politicians to steal their freedoms.
Don't forget that they destroyed thousands of rifles that American civilians donated to them to protect their homeland. They were never invaded and dumped them all into to Thames or ocean or something like that.

A great example of what is coming to the US every day. Here on the "Left Coast", California, Oregon and Washington have all adopted anti-gun legislation that each year becomes more draconian. This year the governor of Oregon just signed legislation that effectively makes Concealed Carry holders criminals if they even drive past an airport or other 'public place' where firearms are prohibited; a companion bill in the legislature may well eliminate gun dealers in this state.

There are reported to have been about 22 gun related deaths in the UK last year. Compare that to any large American city (Chicago alone around 500) and you will see why the Brits have embraced strict controls on guns. Frankly, I don't consider it any of my business, as an American, how the Brits govern themselves and I am certainly not outraged over their enforcement of their gun laws.

As they sang in West Side Story, Krupke, we got troubles of our own!

You sound pretty much in favor of gun control.

I like the Brits, have a few locally that really enjoy shooting my guns. Should anyone from the "East" (everybody to about Japan is East) attack I'm afraid they will need to source their guns from anywhere other than my safe. Monty Python's "reenactment of Pearl Harbor" should strike fear in the hearts of any adversary. Joe

yes that was TOPNOTCH!!!!!

Did they? Ok, I didn't hear that so I'll take your word for it. Long before my time.

Not as many as I thought, 146 crates are not that many. It looks like if they could be matched to the donors ( a rare event?) they were. I do recall seeing an article about one Springfield rifle donated by a US champion match shooter that had a plaque attached to the stocked giving his details and asking for it's return if possible at the end of hostilities. He got it back.

Per Wikipedia:

“At the wars end some 146 crates of weapons were handed back to a reformed ACDBH, still under Cutting's control. Those which could not be matched to donors or which were damaged were sold.”

From this and other threads from days gone by, it seems that the concept of an unarmed society does not get past the "does not compute" firewall with many on here. Haye to break it to some of you, but the UK is far from on its own in this respect. Oh, and then there are the UK rules on "bladed articles" that caused one forum member about to visit the UK to nearly cancel his trip. No gun OR knife?!?!?! Again, unarmed, means unarmed. Don't like it, don't go there.

Also, don't think that the BATFE definition of "firearm" is the accepted standard around the world. In most of Europe for example, possession of an unmounted barrel (and nothing else) means you have a firearm, as it is a major pressure bearing part. Best you have a permit or a really good excuse for having it or you'll be nicked, pronto.
