I found a nice 27-2 with a 3.5" barrel today for a lot cheaper than they are going for on Gunbroker. Serial number is N163XXX, so it should have been born around 1973-1974. I often see the older revolvers wearing newer grips. This previous owner went in the other direction.

Nice find!

I would like to find one but the only one I've found locally had some wear, the wrong stocks, was just the gun, no extras, and the price was $1600. Thought it was a little high at the time so I passed it by. Hopefully I'll come across another one at some point. Maybe that was a good price, I'm not sure. It seems like for that money it should have been in mint condition.

Nice! I bought a 3.5" 27 TG and TH in 1969. One of my favorites, but it got stolen in 1995 along with most of my guns. Found a nickle plated 3.5" w/ the presentation box about 6 years ago.

I've been lucky to see several of these over the years. Seeing this one reminds me that most of the ones I see are in very nice condition some complete with box and docs. Why, I wonder, are they all so nice?
Maybe one day I'll bring one home as nice as this one.

Looks beautiful... I have a 27-2 3.5 tucked away in the original Mahogany case, flawless flocking, virtually no turn line or surface dings or abrasions, original tools still wrapped, paperwork under the liner. It shipped with Walnut Targets but now wear a set of 'exhibition grade' Solid Black Ebony Kurac grips. The S&W Walnuts don't do the gun justice and the Magnas ,to me, look too small in proportion to an N Frame...And recently removed the sideuplate to clean out the dry oil and re-lubricate. I also have a 'collection/ of approx. 30 pre-mim sideplate NIB screws on hand in blue and stainless/chrome should I find an old gun with new plate screws that seem be be a somewhat different shade of bluing. Paid around $1500 for it circa 1999.. No idea of the value today...
