To all my American brothers and sisters, I wish you all a happy and healthy Independence Day, 2025. Get out there and celebrate as you see fit. Personally, I plan on getting in a little shooting, followed by something dead on the grill, and finally some adult libations.

Above all, take a few moments to remember what got us here.

I was at a motorcycle party in Belgium and realized that it was the 4th of July so I mentioned this to one of my friends who happened to be English and said, "I guess you folks don't celebrate the 4th do you?"
He replied, "No, but maybe we should." :unsure:

Bourbon, beef and things that go boom. Ordered a .300 upper from PSA. Got a ribeye for the grill and some Eagle Rare for dessert. Gonna be a good day, Tater. Happy Independence Day!
 
Every so often I think about the great great grandfather of my maternal grandfather who came over to this country in the 1750s. He settled in one of the townships around Reading, PA. When the Revolutionary War broke out, he enlisted in a Berks County, PA militia unit. I am just struck by the fact that my distant ancestor wasn't even born here but he fought for America to make it free.
