Just a little about myself before I venture forward and begin my meager contributions in other threads.
Recently retired (days ago); this year will mark 50 years of carrying a gun (most days). My very first gun was a S&W 39 bought it in '76 (wish I still had that gun). I grew up in one of the most violent cities in America (at the time at least). I am a Navy veteran; a Gunners Mate (joined when Regan got elected). I am a confirmed 1911 guy (the gun I carried for most of my life). I live in the southeast where life is HOT and HUMID most of the year. This among some other reasons relating to my former jobs gun policies got my carrying off body a fair amount of the time (cross body sling bag). Off body I carry a M&P 10mm. Started with the standard model and moved to the Performance Center version when it became available (Apex triggers in both). Both mount a Holosun red dot. Size and weight not really being a factor in the sling bag. On body I carry custom Dan Wesson VBOB commander; also 10mm. Keith at the DW custom shop built it for me. It is a CBOB frame with a VBOB slide (I prefer a properly fitted smooth frame to a checkered one). It also had a carry meld job done to it. VERY mildly, just to break the sharp edges throughout. Nothing as radical as what Clark does but enough to feel smooth in the hand. No optic on it just plain Jane Novak sights (or at least DW's version of them). On rare occasion I will carry a snub model 19. I consider myself an amateur collector and am fond of oddball guns. Oh yes and last but not least; I am a confirmed trigger snob. That said, I think Glocks are a travesty.
So that's my story and introduction.
EDIT: Oh yes and I should have mentioned I am an avid reloader; and have dedicated one of the bedrooms in my house as a Armory / reloading room.
