Anaconda 6" 45LC - Impressions?

A deal that may be too good to turn down has presented myself for this piece. So for anyone who has one:

1) How do you like it?
2) How was initial quality?
3) How does it compare to the 44mag version?

I'm mainly referring to the current models.

I don't have any of the new Anacondas in .45 but do have two .44 Magnum versions...4.25" and 6"...recently sold an 8". They are superb revolvers and I think have better triggers than the Pythons. It's the same action but scaled up so it must have something to do with mechanical advantage.

You won't be unhappy with whatever you buy...stainless or blue. I will say the 8" needs a bipod under the barrel as it's a big piece.

I used to own an Anaconda .44 in the early 90s. It was a very good gun but too bulky for my needs, so it saled.
 
You get the Green Light from me.

I have the 4 inch Stainless Anaconda in 45 Colt. The each his own, but the 4 shoots so good, why bother with the Six? But if you like the Six Inch, that’s cool too.

My 4 inch Colt 45 Anaconda will shoot everything I’ve tried, well.
I currently run a 250 Mo Cast and 9.5 CFE.
My other load (for which the gun is zeroed) is a 250 XTP and a case full of H110 for 1325 fps.

Buy that Beast! Report back!

***EDIT: You may need a taller front sight to get zeroed, I did. Harrison Engineering, I think was the name of the outfit that makes the taller front sight. They cost about $40 and take about 30 seconds to install.
A droplet of Lock Tite on that rear sight after you get it zeroed will insure it stays zeroed.

Last Saturday I finally found a 1993 6” Anaconda in 45 Col; been looking for a reasonably priced example for decades. That said, I want one of the new 4 inchers too. I’ll report as soon as I get her to the range.

Here she is with my other DA revolvers chambered for the venerable 45 Colt:

5” 625-5 1of48
4” 625-6 Mountain Gun
4” 25-5
6” Anaconda (1993)

Was mainly looking for a comparison between the Anaconda 45LC and the Anaconda 44mag. I have my eyes on a current model, it seems Colt extended the rebate until end of May (or was it June).

Oops ☺️

I do have a current model 4” Kodiak in 44 mag and looking for a 4” in 45 Colt. I can say that the trigger on the new Anaconda and variants is very smooth, especially when compared to the first gen anacondas. I’ve handled a number of the new anacondas and the fit, finish were excellent and triggers were all very smooth.

I agree. Are you the fella who has the Bear Grips on the Kodiak? I have a Kodiak in 4" also, along with an Anaconda 44 mag 6" , and you are absolutely correct. I'm very excited for some of the new models they are putting out, the Boa, Blued King Cobras, and Round Butt Anaconda.

PS, I ordered a set of Bear Grips for both my Kodiak AND Anaconda from those folks in upstate NY

I have a new model Anaconda 45 LC with a 4 inch barrel and the quality is excellent as is the accuracy. It is very strongly built and should handle +P loads easily. The frame size is identical to a 44 magnum. I like it enough to buy a six inch in the near future.

How does it compare to 44mag in terms of recoil etc?

All look great but like the 625-5 the best on your photo.

I have all the above and the 4” .45 Colt is much more fun to shoot than the .44. I see 4” 45 Colt Anacondas on GB at times. I have a couple 3” 625s in 45 Colt that are awesome too and smaller framed than the Colt.
 
It has the MkV action with coil springs so it is durable. Also if you reload , you can use the Ruger loads in it.
 
I have both new versions. They both shoot with authority depending on your loads. I find the .44 mag loaded with full power 240g rounds quite a bit more aggressive but is also able to shoot very comfortably with .44 special loads as well. My hottest LC round to date is averaging 800 fps but I would not hesitate to make that round more aggressive.

Now thats what I wanted to hear!
 
I have a 6" Anaconda in .45 Colt I bought used in the 90s - I don't use it very often but it is accurate and it will take the "+P" 325 gr. loads. I have shot PMC (now out of print), Cor-bon (also out of print) and Buffalo bore - all 325 gr. and all got over 1300 fps.

I tend to carry S&W N-frames by preference but they won't take the "big" loads - not that those are really needed.

I like .44s just fine, but prefer .45 Colt for effectiveness on game over 200 lbs - still I'd hate to live on the difference ;)

I have a 4 inch and LOVE IT. I carry it in the colder weather and 4 inches is plenty accurate. I really like the 255 grain Streak and Underwood ammo: the frame's got enough meat where (to me) it feels no worse than a .45 ACP compact semi-auto. I also have big hands and the factory grips are a real nice fit. IMO but I admit I have loved the .45 Colt round for years.
 
I have a Ruger Redhawk 5032, the 4.2" dual chambered .45 Colt/.45ACP version, and I'm always looking for a 4" S&W 25 (as well as vintage ones in 4" and 6"); to me, the addition of a 4" blued Anaconda in .45 Colt would essentially consitute the holy trinity of modern revolvers to my way of thinking. It's just the perfect barrel length for all-around use IMO. Pray for me wallet, it's gonna need ALLL the help it can get :p

I’d say it’s like shooting a .45 ACP compared to a .40. 45 Colt is just a nice thud, straight back, very little muzzle flip, back on target quickly (even full power- not cowboy loads). .44 mag is snappy and has much more muzzle flip and shock to the hand/wrist. This may be subjective to the shooter, but that’s my feeling on it.
