The R on the grip isn’t what I am referring to. That is a mark the grip makers used. There is a RB inside a circle on the grip frame. That indicates Refinish Blue. There are many marks and numbers on someJust an average 27-2...yeah, sure. If you say soI personally think the entire rig, re-blued or not, looks gorgeous.
But isn't there a mark on the bottom left grip? Circle B? How would this refer to a reblued gun if that's what you were talking about? As you might have guessed, I'm quite new to the ins and outs of N-frame revolver minutiae, especially with regards to the various markings and stampings found underneath the grips. I really ought to get my 27-2 out (it's a 6") and pull the grips for a look just to see what's under there.

I agree except I think they were smooth targets. I think presentations have the double relief cut.Beauty lies in the eyes of the holder. Tastefully done. I am thinking smooth presentation stock were used as the base, otherwise there would be too much wood missing from the corners where the leaves aer.
