I’m the same way. I have a pair of LCRs in .38 Special (plus another in .22LR for cheap practice), a pair of 2” Model 10-5s, and a pair of Glock 26s. I haven’t “doubled up” on my J-frame models, but they are similar enough to not worry about it.

The Combat Masterpiece. Started with a Model 15; then got a 1951 Combat Masterpiece, then two Model 67s. Added a .22 Combat Masterpiece for inexpensive practice.
Only other one I have two of is the Model 41. Got one, liked it, and bought the next one I saw, Just because.

This is the first time I've ever done this but when I started looking for a Model 58 I found three of them so I bought them all.
The 2 nickeled ones are fine as is, the blued one is a bit rough so I am having it round-butted by Andy Horvath for cold-weather EDC.

I sort of had doubles of the SA-22. One was a Browning Grade II, the other was a Norinco knock-off.I have doubles of the Browning SA-22, Sig P365XL, Shield .45, Mossberg 590 and Ruger Mini-30.
They both were pretty nice, especially that bottom ejection since I shoot lefty.

I had the "herd" thinned down, but then the bug bit again. I have a real soft spot for K-frame short barreled magnums, 1 M-19 and 2 M-66's one 2.5" and one 3" from the first run. Then there are the N-frames an M-27-2 3.5", its older brother a pre-27 5"and the big kid, an M-57 4". The 1911's and P-35's have already been distributed to the kids.

My Grandfather’s unfired with box and all papers and cleaning rod 10-5. I had to buy the exact same gun to shoot!
What if they're the same but different. I have six J frames. Steel, aluminum and Scandium frames. 22, 22 mag, 38 & 357.
Three Sig 365's. 365, 365 XL, 365-380. BTW the XL I can group the best and the 380 can pour bullets into a target like rain. Scary fast controlled follow up. Shooting it is expensive.

Hmm......... Have several duplicates. As far as a modern gun the little Ruger LCP, have three of those. Just a handy little pocket size gun that has been totally reliable and easy to carry. Classics include two Colt 1903 Pocket Autos, a couple 1911s and a pair of Colt Targetsman 22 pistols (though one of those is the wifes, she does let me shoot it now and then). There are several old M&P revolvers, a pair of Regulation Police 32s and a couple of the old Savage 1907 pistols as well. I just plain like guns!

Years ago I had a Colt Commander. The original version, lightweight. I found and purchased another in case the first one wore out. I don't use it that much anymore, but I still have the back up.
Cannot remember exactly but I bought the first one in the late 1980s and the spare in 2011 or so.

I have always been of the opinion that you should have a spare. I have 2 (or 3) of most of all my firearms, rifles and pistols, with the exception of my first, which is a Model 27, 8 3/8 .357. But I do have spares in all of my caliber firearms Remember the motto always be prepared.

I posted some that were the "same but different". Like a pre-model 15 Combat Masterpiece and model 15-3.
Or 3-5" blued 1911's all with the same sort of target features, but by different manufacturers, Series 70 Colt Gold Cup, Kimber Gold Match, Les Baer Premier II. All the "same but different".

I love it enough that I bought a second version of it and also one in 9mm (which I don't carry).
With all the competing models out there, I appreciate the M&P40 Compact as much today as I did when it was first released many years ago. (No weird thingy on the trigger shoe, either.)

S&W N frame Mod 28. I have a 6-inch, I'd like to add a 4-inch to the flock. The best wheel gun I've ever owned.

I have been known to panic when a company junkifies a traditional all steel pistol or revolver with plasticky parts so if I happen to see a good deal on an "original" I snap it up even if I already have one.
The same is true if they just discontinue an "original steel handgun" because they can make more profit selling a replacement all plasticky gun. The older "classics" are not only becoming very scarce in good condition but are rising in price so fast even Elon will soon not be able to afford a quality gun anymore.
A few years ago I went into deep shock when I ordered a Mec 16 gauge semi-progressive shotshell press and was horrified when I discovered the dies were now made of junk plastic. I panicked and bought an old well used all steel press with some parts missing therefore the low price and robbed the dies out of it and put them on my new press that had been "junkified" with plasticky parts.
The plasticky dies were sent back to Mec with a ranting nasty and profane note telling them I will never buy one of their junk presses again.
I also called them up and told them to stick their plasticky dies up their anatomy where the "sun does not shine" and they are now persona non grata until our Sun goes Nova and sucks them into a Black Hole in the Universe. The receptionist in the complaint department (naturally located on the other side of the world) then said," Yes I understand your concern but do you still like us"?
At that point I grabbed a bottle of Prozac, downed a couple of shots of vodka and then finding one of the plasticky dies I forgot to send back carefully placed it in the middle of the floor, jumped up and down on it and then threw it out the window.
The plasticky die after being thrown out the window landed in front of a Cop who was in the process of writing me out a parking ticket and he then also cited me for littering and throwing a hazardous substance onto the sidewalk. With a straight face I said, "Yes Officer I understand your concern but do you still like me???

Not exactly duplicates, when I was looking for a replacement EDC, I purchased a bodyguard 2.0. A few months later Smith introduced the Performance Center Compensated version and I had to have one. Now I carry the original and practice at the range with the other.
