I just read on AFR that the Kimber revolver has been discontinued. I had ordered some loaders and a set of grips a week ago but no charge was made to my card. No response from Kimber either. They too have had QC issues.

I'm going to call CS tomorrow, the parts I wanted were listed as in stock. I'm going to take my K6s 3" DAO as my main gun to Revolverfest. A 640 PC as backup. I was going to buy a DASA 4" Combat but...
The only source I have found is the one you posted from a facebook post?

I have 2 Kimber revolvers, one 3 inch .357 and one snubby .38, which has the better trigger and action than any of my Colt and S&W snubnose revolvers...
I hope this isn't true, as it would be sad to see those go away. The build quality on my two examples are very good.

Say it ain’t so! My K6XS is my go to pocket gun. Hate to see Kimber discontinuing any revolvers.

Dad got him a K6 Target a few years back, and it had major issues even before its 1st range trip. Kimber "fixed" it, but he sold it never having fired it. I've never been partial to Kimber, but I hear their manufacturing QC has been improving as of late.

I have a 3" K6S in DAO only, and is one of my primary EDC. I have been very happy with it - both quality and shootability. I have tried the 38 special equivalent of it in the lightweight alloy (forgot the name), and it felt very good - excellent DA trigger. Wonder if Colt coming up with so many revolvers lately may be cutting into their business...hope not true, it is good to have options!

Very fond of my three inch K6S. But I doubt these were big sellers. Rarely see them in shops. I know of a used one a dealer has been sitting on for years (I bought the other used one he had). Great platform. An expensive platform.

I really like my Kimber revolver. Good fit, finish, function and accurate. I've personally heard of fewer QC issues with them compared to the other major manufacturers, but there are fewer of them in circulation, I suppose. Maybe that's why we see fewer used KImbers on the market (or it could be that folks like me just hang on to them?).
They all quote the one and only source, the person from AFR (Optics Planet??)
Lets wait and see if there is any other verified info out there

I wanted a 3" DASA shortly after release.
I've accumulated enough S&W revolvers that loosely fit the sae role (66-3 2.5", 13-2 3", 19 Carry Comp, 360J) and a superb DB SDR 357. I have little need for a 3" DASA but still have a reasonable desire.

The major problem with the Kimber's is they never lengthened the ejector rod as they added 3" and 4" barrels. It will not even completely push out 38spl cases, yet alone 357Mags.
My buddy carries one as his EDC. Loves it.

Amazon has a company called 5 star that makes the exact same speed loaders that Kimber was selling. Several different colors as well or even better speed beez makes awesome ones!! Just push in to release the rounds. I’ve got both

Doing a quick Google search shows me this exact, near word-for-word, report in 2024. They have discontinued some specific models in the past; they continue to make others today.

The revolver market has revolvers at various price points.
When I was a policeman my Department only authorized S&W or Colt revolvers.
The clones and knockoffs had a poor reputation and they deserved it then and nothing has changed.
Kimber has a solid background making 1911 pistols and I think they have done well with their revolvers.

Me too, although my 60-18 (.357 with 5" barrel) is a slightly better shooter. In fact it has been awesome on several counts.

I wondered about that too. Diamondback was a vendor at last years Revolverfest with demos. Along with the other major players. Kimber was nowhere to be found. Same thing scheduled for this year.
The Kimber K6s DAO is my best shooting revolver. It will be my main gun at this years event. While yes, it's still only a rumor, Bryan is very well connected to the industry and Lipsey's in particular.

Local shop has been sitting on a couple of Diamondbacks for a while. I've looked at the three inch a few times. Seems a well put together piece. It looks almost identical to the Kimber. Been tempted but have held off so far. I have like twenty other three inch revolvers in the collection.
