That said, that data is hard to believe. No, I cannot prove it’s incorrect, but based on my personal experience and that of my current and former police officer friends it’s truly hard to believe.
I worked in big city environments and traveled extensively on the clock. I drew my gun in at least six (6) states and the District of Columbia. Heck, I even drew my gun in some off duty situations. I am happy to say I never shot anyone or shot at anyone. Presenting my gun quickly resolved the situations.
Again, you are correct given the number you posted. But simply cannot believe the source of it. In essence it reflects a whole lot of officers never made a felony car stop, executed a felony search warrant, or responded to an armed assault.
Maybe other current and past LEO’s will chime in.
