My best elk on it's best match to a gun. The factory re-blued 1955 mfg. .38/.44 and these grips are what I chose as the keepers of my collection. The grips were from a highly unusual antler that made the grips look like "marble". They are as good as I have ever made a pair and fit my hand perfectly. The .38/.44 is my favorite vintage S&W. The round front sight and ejector rod shroud make it a pretty sight for me. All my other "best" grips are out there in the world.

Three of your other “best pairs” reside with me including the J frame pair you said you would have kept for yourself if you had a J frame !
I was really admiring a couple of sets of your N Frame Moose stocks. Should have sprung for them.

Here is a J-frame set you crafted from caribou several years ago. (shortly pre-first retirement IIRC.)
They are 'keepers' here on a Chiefs Special. At the time, you were somewhat fond of them, and I am still grateful that you made them available. Their likeness to ivory is amazing. Thanks again!

Sometimes I don't buy when I should! I remember, not that long ago, when Ken was selling grips. I would think I should buy this set or that set, and didn't- regretfully! Now I can only hope Ken comes back briefly before announcing a third retirement. Ken, if you decide to relocate another set of your N frame 'keepers' let me know. You really perform outstanding work

That was my problem - I hesitated looking at a set of Ken’s grips and -poof - they were gone. Often within minutes of being posted. I changed my ways and managed to score the three beautiful sets that I have (post #4).

I have a few of your stock sets, all no bark versions.
This is one of my favorites, I was reluctant to buy it but you assured me the bark had been removed. The grips are smooth and the dark “stripes” are a nice accent. Shown here on a S&W model 25-2.
Not sure if you remember these, a pair of caribou on a Model 1917, Brazilian Contract revolver.
They are fast becoming my favorites.
This is a pair of smooth elk that is mottled. Show on a Model 1917, Brazilian Contract revolver.
You may remember, I have a few more.
