Good deal! NJ's magazine and assault weapons bans fell to the 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals sitting 'en banc.'

10 to 5 vote, NJ will undoubtably ask for a stay pending appeal to SCOTUS. Which, is hopefully going to be beside the point before it gets to SCOTUS. Also noted they took care of limited capacity magazines too.

The 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has ruled that New Jersey’s ban on assault weapons is unconstitutional, upholding a lower court’s ruling and broadening it to strike down larger pieces of the state’s strict gun regulations that have been in place for decades.

In a 2024 District Court ruling, a New Jersey judge reluctantly nixed the state’s prohibitions on Colt AR-15 rifles while allowing other parts of the challenged laws to stand. But that ruling, according to Friday’s decision, did not go far enough. The court said the state’s bans on assault weapons and large-capacity magazines that hold over 10 rounds of ammunition also run afoul of the Second Amendment.

New Jersey still has some legal options and I read that the opinion is not in effect until the mandate issues.

I would wait before doing anything that could be called a felony under the present law.

Those summaries seem to capture the gist of it, but miss that the Appeals Court remanded a portion. My reading is the remand is for both parties to enter evidence for pistols, shotguns and other arms besides rifles.

Based on my reading it may be worth reaching out to the plaintiffs. It's not clear to me whether the LCM is part of the remand for factual findings.
It does not say so in the concluding LCM paragraph on page 64.
