Matt Damon's The Odyssey stunt double is B.C. woman with 'the greatest arms' he's ever seen
'I’m really proud to just be a tiny girl from Canada and to represent on this level,' says Devyn Dalton

In an interview with Josh Horowitz, Damon explained how Nolan used a technique called "forced perspective" to make Odysseus and his band of men appear small in the face of a group of giants called the Laestrygonians.

“There were these kind of stunt men who were all seven feet, right? And then they got stunt men who were under five feet," Damon explained.

"And so my double was a woman — a female stunt performer who had the greatest arms I have ever seen."

...Dalton, who stands four feet six inches tall, told CBC News she started performing at age nine, and spent years developing her skills as a dancer, actor, athlete and stunt performer.

Along the way, she's collected more than 80 stunt and acting credits, work she said helped open the door to a role in The Odyssey.

“Basically your last job is your audition for your next job," she said...

Just checked, where the Damon stunt double is 4 foot 5, he's 5 foot 10 and the giant foes were hitting 7 feet tall. He said in a feature that the "long ship" was real and one day the Irish waters really started tossing the vessel, thus causing the loss of a lot of lunches, his included.

Plus, he gets paid up front….

I’m gonna watch this one on the IMAX screen as soon as I canvet a couple tickets.

Big deal, he's a left-leaning Democrat. Yawn. … if I had to decide whether to go or not depending on the political leanings of the cast and crew, I'd never go...........
Yep! And not just the modern day actors. Some very revered actors had left leaning ideals but did not bring them to the screen.

I don’t like his politics ( he almost can’t help it being raised in Boston ).
I do respect his humanitarian efforts. He is providing drinkable water to many remote African villages amongst other things. Many liberals talk a good talk but don’t open their wallet. Damon is at least putting money where his mouth is.

Good! He deserves it!

“How ya like them apples?”
I can't help it you were wrong ;)
I didn't mean for my opinion to hurt your feelings so much
Does Ben sit in the chair and watch you two?

I don’t even know what you’re talking about.

My feelings are not hurt.

YOU brought this up.

You have your audience. Talk.

Homer lived 2800 years ago but somehow he managed to predict that mankind would still be the same yapping creatures today as evidenced here. Zues, Homer's god, was known for his thunderbolts. And here we are on a forum dedicated to his thunder sticks.

Regarding The Odyssey, Odysseus was away for a 10-year war, then with side trips, took another 10 years to return the 650 miles to ancient Ithaca. His wife, Penny, sure was a patient woman. "Honey, I'm home!"

Oh yay. Another Ska8erGirl hot take for apparently no damn reason.

What will upset her next? Tom Hanks? Air? Maybe mayonnaise is too spicy for her. We will have to wait and see.

It is one of my favorite books and rarely do any movies do it justice. I'll stay home with a plate of dolmathes and a spanakopita.

A movie we'll never watch, from the pearl clutching moral appropriation to the underlying message from Hollyweird I won't even waste my time.

Apparently, navigation was not high on the Greek skills ranking.
