I know many people who carry a SD handgun. I know only a few that have been 100% dedicated to that practice. Many are part time carriers and will only do so about half the time. Unfortunately like a flat tire, it seems to get a nail in it or blow out when your car's spare is either missing or not filled up. It also occurs many times that are inconvenient, in bad weather, time constraints, etc.
Almost no one knows when and if you will need to defend your life - unless you have a crystal ball of course. That is why if you have made the decision to carry it must always be with you (legally of course). Situations always arise when we least expect it and that could happen the time you left it home. If there is a place that has an extremely high chance of being attacked, I simply avoid going there unless I have absolutely no choice in the matter. I am not looking to have to defend myself - but as we all know, flat tires happen even in good neighborhoods so we must always be at the ready!
I just had to get this off my chest - I know way too many "part timers".
