629 DX

Sweet dash five DX
That’s a great snag! Congratulations
Very interested in seeing a photo of your test target, if it was included in the box
The flat side combats are very nice, I’m in total agreement of too much gun for a round butt
It came with a comfy set of rubber grips which I prefer on shooters

Nice 629 8 3/8" DX! I've been looking for one just like yours recently since I really like the 8 3/8 BBL. I agree with you. This particular model needs a square butt. The first thing I'd do would be to put on a pair of conversion target grips on that round butt.

I bought from Vitoonmakers before and did not know they offer conversion target stocks that look so close to the original S&W targets. Looks very nice on your gun. What's the name of the the VItton model grips like yours? I'll be looking for them on eBay.

Previous owner discarded test target. It wasn't in the box nor was any of the paperwork 😪

Nice job from Vitoonmakers on making that look so much like the original stocks, which have always been my favorite. I'll be sure to get one once they have it back in stock.

Wanted to share what the back looks like
Nice fitment!

I'm seriously considering them as a substitute for a couple of my N-frames while I save up for some primo custom or Cokes down the road, it seems grips cost darn near as much as the gun nowadays. Likewise my Colt New Service as I've tried to get a replacement grip for my broken left side original and neither one have fit properly, on my third attempt now.

When I acquired my 629 Classic DX, it was wearing the rubber, Hogue grips that came from the factory. They were okay but, I prefer wood grips and acquired a wooden Hogue combat type grip. They provide the fit in my hand that I prefer and they carry well in my Kenai Chest Holster. The 629 has a 6.5" barrel and is a tack driver.
