One of the four tabs on the bottom of a magazine follower broke off. (Older 5906 15 rd. mag) Will S&W replace the follower under their lifetime warranty? (HK did for one of their mags.)

Probably but it would be cheaper to buy a follower from Brownells than paying shipping both ways to Smith.

On something so minor as that, S&W will just send you the part gratis, they won't have to see the old one...

After your call (sometimes may seem like eternity on "hold"), you just wait for the padded envelope to arrive.

That's true, even back in the 80's, S&w had that "Small part? No problem" attitude. I dropped a 639 magazine on the pavement years ago and bent the lip of the base plate. Tried to bend it right with a pair of needle nose pliers and only made it worse by scratching it up. I wrote S&W about purchasing a new base plate. A week later the part arrived in the mail with no note or charge. Same with a set of screws for the hand grips. I overtightened the screws leaving that widened screw head look behind. Wrote a letter about the price and availability and once again received an envelope from S&W no charge.

+1 I had a cracked follower on a SW99 .40 Compact magazine. They just mailed me a replacement. I've had that happen with a few small parts.

Not too shabby, eh?

S&W probably has some of the best customer service of any U.S. company. Does anyone know...are their employees union? Or, is the company employee owned?
