Anyone ever use their cast bullet offerings? If yes, what caliber and bullet? Results?
This will be my first time loading ANY cast bullets, thinking about his 245gr Keith SWC for the 44mag/Spl, load as regular? My die set is a Hornady set and while they work fine with jacketed do yall think they'll work with some cast bullets? Naturally, like many I want to start casting soon and just am wanting to try some and see how they perform.
I talked to the man running the show there at Stateline and he was uber helpful but of course I could tell a good vast bullet from a bad one if my life depended on it but to me at least he seems to know what's up. I will say this though, his listed BHN seems to be a little higher than some makers out there at 22bhn. Would this pose any issues? Also, he said due to the wild variances in guns out there now he sizes his at .431" or .432", cant recall right now, but custom sizing available upon request. I have not slugged my barrel but did take a selection of jacketed bullets I have on hand and dropped them through my chambers in my 29-3 and I the Hornadys were the biggest at .430 and they passed through each chamber easily, no force required. In fact I would guess the cylinder throats are somewhere in the .431-.432" range
I dont have a gage pins that large.
Thanks for any thoughts, advice and/or experience with Stateline.
