The BIG one
I'd like to try handloading for .45 ACP/AR/LC, starting off with bulk lead bullets.
Looking atpictures on the internet I see that bullets expressly for 45LC have an extra groove for crimping, while 45ACP don't. The diameters are the same and the bullet wieghts are comparable.
For simplicity, I'd like to start out with one bullet that I could load in all three calibers.
The .45 ACP barrel is ramped so I'm not limited to ball type bullets (but I wouldn't expect a Keith to load reliably!) and the purpose of these rounds are for economical plinking, not hunting or defense.
Can you recommend a bullet type that would perform accurately in these three .45 cartridges?

Loaded to target level velocities a crimp groove really isn't necessary. I personally would go for the 200gr and up, but in a LSWC form..........
