Does anyone have any .41 magnum loads using the 215 gr LSWC?? If you do, and you wouldn't mind sharing, I'd appreciate it ;)

My favorite for the .41 in my M57s (no dash) is 17.5 gr/2400, Remington or Starline brass, Federal standard primers, 215 hard cast SWC (can't dent bullets with thumbnail). These are top end, safe in my guns.

Usual internet precautions apply - double check these for yourself, please: had best luck in OM Ruger 4.625" .41 Mag with nominal 215 gr lead and either 7.4 gr 231 or 16.5 gr 2400. Slight accuracy edge to the 231. Slight recoil/perceived power edge to the 2400.

Best of luck and please do double check my experience vs your sources.

Regards,

Dyson

Nothing too ambitious here.

215 LSWC with 7.8 grains Unique.

Pleasant and accurate shooting practice load in my Model 58.

Nothing magic about 7.8. Was targeting the 7.5 - 8.0 range and this just happens to be what my Little Dandy throws with the #15 rotor.

Being a geezer that's discovered the recoil-sensitive wimp within, I've developed a fondness for loads in the 1000-1100 FPS realm serve my needs quite well. I load 210 or 215 lead SWC in preference to other.

Seems like 800X is often overlooked in cast bullet loads, but I have found it works well in the 41 mag for me.

I'm shooting 215 grn bullet with 8.5 grains of Unique, but I'm not sure I like it that well. Didn't seem to be accurate for my Model 58, so I'll have to shoot it some more to see. If not, I will drop back to 7.5 grns of Unique or the 2400 load.

I use the Meister 215 grain SWC (L) bullet with CCI-350 primers and
11 grains of Accurate Arms #5 powder. Strong load with managable
recoil out of the Model 57 with 6"-barrel.
This combination let me look really good at the range. (25 meters)

I found 8.4 grains of Unique to be what I consider accurate out of my Model 58, but I dropped it down to 7.9 Grains just to make a nice powder puff load.

I appreciate everyones input. I have a model 58 coming, so I'm really looking forward to loading for it.

Been way more years than I want to remember. Years ago I put a good deal of time and effort into the 41 mag. I got the best shot to shot accuracy using Herco powder. From memory I don't want to guess at the numbers but I do recall the best accuracy was achieved loading 5-10% below published max from 1980's data. I used home cast working with Lyman #2 lead mix with a gas checked 410610 Lyman mold. Other powders did better going through a Crony if speed is your goal but the tightest clusters I shot were loaded with Herco. Try it, I don't think you will be disappointed unless you're looking for quick expanding bear medicine.
