.41 Mag. bullet source
Is there a commercial source for the .41 magnum Lyman 410459 bullet? I do not cast my own, and don't want to go to the expense of starting right now. I've done several internet searches and searches of this forum, but have not found an answer to that particular question. It appears there used to be a couple, but they seem to be out of business. Thanks for any help. JP

I'm not sure of anyone that makes that bullet. Montana Bullet Works however does offer the H&G #258 bullet, this is the original Keith bullet for the .41. They actually have quite an extensive line of .41 caliber bullets but they ae pricey. I guess that is the price you pay for him casting the bullets by hand with a ladle. I just placed an order myself for the H&G bullet just the other day. Be prepared as they only take money orders or checks for payment. Hope this helps you out.

336A: Thanks for tip. I'll probably try the H&G 258 from Montana Bullet. I'm reading up on it now.

You mean these guys Rim Rock Bullets, Premium Cast Lead Bullets
The only one they list that is close is the 230gr Keith with a GC.

What grain is the one you're looking for? Bayou Bullets (Donnie Miculek's bullet co.) has a 215gr SWC for $105/1000. The website is under construction, but if you email him he'll get back to you quickly.

Beartooth does not have a 215 gr. SWC for .41 Magnum.
While 410459 is a good bullet, and is a close match to what could have been a Keith bllet, contrary to popular belief there is no such thing as a "True Keith bullet" for .41 Magnum, Elmer never designed one!
I wish I could point you somewhere, but I know of no company that sells the 410459.
I can't tell you about the Montana Bullet Works #258 H&G bullet except that it isn't an "Original Keith" no matter what they or anyone may say, see above. It may be as close to 410459 as the Lyman number is to the fictious bullet.
If you are interested in casting you can often find 410459 mould blocks on E-Bay.

In Gun Notes, April 1966 Elmer states that H&G was the first to make a mold for him. In November 1967 Elmer says "Best bullet for the handloader in .41 Magnum is the 220-grain I designed for Hensley & Gibbs and Saeco."
Elmer recommended it, that's good enough for me!

Thanks to each and everyone of you for offering advice, information, and taking the time to help me out. I really appreciate each post.
I put in an order with Montana Bullet Works for the H&G design bullets.
But the search for more designs to try is still on.
Thanks again. This is a top notch sight.

Really, I hope your not serious? Here is a article written by Keith himself, why don't you scroll down to page 25 and read what he has to say.
http://www.elmerkeithshoot.org/GA/19...orite_Load.pdf
He also approved of the saeco as rkrcpa pointed out which he also refers to in the above article.
Here is some reading for you to if the above is not enough for you.
Chapter 12 - The Keith Semiwadcutter (SWC) Cast Bullet Guide for Handgunners - Glen E. Fryxell
Keith SWC - 3 equal width driving bands, broad meplat, radiused ogive, beveled crimp groove, square-cut lube groove
