Default burn marks

Hello all I am new here so instead of searching for days I thought i would just ask ive been reloading for a 29 and 2 629s and i have noticed that right at the tip of the cylinder ive been getting burn marks these are all stainless guns except for the 29 which is nickel. All of the loads are mild such as 9.5 of unique and 6 of bullseye all are with lswc is there anyway to prevent this.thank you.

Welcome to the form

You did not mention what weight bullet, but is it burn marks or just black carbon that wipes off with a rag and some cleaner?? Sounds normal to me? Lead bullets and the lube leaves dirt as well as the powder.

Welcome!

Burn marks are normal and show up more readily on stainless and chrome.

Your favorite cleaner, a toothbrush and a little elbow grease should take care of it.

Much like having a wood burning stove, shooting cast bullets in revolvers involves some routine clean up.
All normal, not hard, and well worth it to me.

Don't worry about the burn marks. They wipe off easily. At least mine do!

Sounds like lead deposits.Flitz polish or mag polish will remove them. There are lead removal cloths such as lead away that work for this too.All of these are mild abrasives,so don't use them on blued guns and use them gently on nickle.

Try to post a picture if you can. Don't use the flash, Take the picture outside early morning or late or cloudy day.
