I searched this forum and couldn't find anything about handloading for the M&P 15. Seems there are a lot of us who do, so let's see 'em.
I use LC brass and CCI primers for all loads.

53 Vmax over 25.7 Benchmark OAL 2.260
55 Vmax over 26.0 Varget OAL 2.260
65 Sierra GK over 25.5 Varget OAL 2.260
75 Amax over 25.2 Varget OAL 2.390
80 Amax over 23.5 IMR 4895 OAL 2.550

I load the Hornady 68gr BTHP with 23.8grs of IMR 4895.
Winchester small rifle primers and LC cases.

I load the 80 gr. A-Max with the tip cut off so it will feed through the magazine. I use H335. Accuracy is not that great, and the holes on paper are actually egg shaped at 50 yards but round at 100. I can't complain though, since a 1:9 twist isn't supposed to be compatible with this heavy a bullet.

I loaded up some 62gr over 25.3gr of H335 for my SHTF rifle. Good groups at 50 and 100yrd with same POA but POI at 100 about 1.5" high. Still minute of Zombe

bm51 those 62's should be MOZ out to 200yds with a 50yd zero. (about 1/2" low @ 150 and about 2.5" low @ 200 according to ballistics calculator)

Dave,
I havn't shot those 80's @ 50yds but I have @ 100yds and get about 1.5 to 2.0" groups. When I take it out to 300yds the groups tighten up when I do my part. My black rifle has a 1:8 twist though. I have read and seen with my own eyes that they need some distance to stabilize. I use a single feed insert in an old mag so I can feed 'em in one @ a time. Havn't tried cutting the tips off...clever, but I don't think that's gonna help in the accuracy deptartment. Then again, that's just based on opinion and not experience.
